Constructed of gilded aluminum, the obverse consisting of a circular wheat stalk wreath, surrounding a central raised Reichsarbeitsdienst (Reich Labour Service RAD) insignia in the form of a raised shovel head defaced by a mobile swastika, the reverse with a clip and swivel attachment claws, maker marked with the logo of F. W. Assmann & Shne, Ldenscheid, with a manufacture date of 39, measuring 45 mm in diameter,
